Oxnard, CA -- 14th Annual Celebration of the Whales Festival - March 15, 2009. There's no place along the California Coast where locals can lay claim to the migrating whales, though some say their viewing spots are the best. With literally dozens of whale watching trips and events in California, you have to pick and choose your whale festivals and excursions because it's simply impossible to see and do them all. For instance, just south of Oxnard on the Ventura and Los Angeles County Line in Malibu, another group celebrates the whales in an annual festival, too.
