Orange County Children’s Book Festival 6th annual
event in Costa Mesa is designed for children of all ages. This
family-fun festival attracts more than 20,000 visitors who will be
entertained and delighted by authors, illustrators, booksellers,
animals, storytellers, costumed characters, train rides, crafts, food
and entertainment.

COSTA MESA , CA -- The Orange County Children’s Book Festival celebrates
its sixth anniversary on Sunday, Oct. 4, (9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.) at the
Orange Coast College Campus with a free public event for families
featuring book readings, live performances, autograph signings, crafts,
food, booksellers, carnival games and more.
Headlining the event is the voice talent from Nickelodeon’s hit animated
preschool series The Wonder Pets! – Sofie Zamchick (“Linny the Guinea
Pig”), Teala Dunn (“Turtle Tuck”) and Danica Lee (“Ming-Ming Duckling”)
– who will perform live on the main stage at 1:15 p.m. with an autograph
signing immediately following.

Throughout the day, the main entertainment stage will feature authors
and illustrators including Frank Beddor, Golden Globe Award-nominated
movie producer of There’s Something About Mary and author of The Looking
Glass Wars Trilogy; Aja Alycean, singer and songwriter; Robin Preiss
Glasser, Fancy Nancy illustrator; Kathleen Krull, Giants of Science; the
all-girl teen rock band, The Raymies; Kathryn Hewitt, Lives Of …
illustrator; Paul Brewer, You Must be Joking; Jim Gilbert, Cartoon
Factory illustrator; Pat Burns, Grandparents Rock; and many, many, more.
This family-fun festival that attracts more than 20,000 visitors is
designed for children by an all volunteer team of parents and educators.
Families can participate in free health screenings to evaluate
children’s vision, hearing and dental and event highlights include
children's performances
from the Taiko Drummers, Audri’s School of Performing Arts, Company Kid
from OC Song and Dance Company and Southern California Children's
Chorus, Tierrita Flamenca, The Claddagh School of Irish Dance as well as
onsite professional storytelling.
The expo area will include more than 100 exhibits offering fun
activities for children such as face painting, storytelling, musicians
and drawings as well as book vendors, educational supply stores and
presentations by authors and illustrators. This year the Orange Coast
College stage will focus on children’s health, wellness and nutrition
and feature cooking demonstrations. Admission and parking are free.
Refreshments will also be available.
