A Magical Journey Where Dreams Come True!
From the moment the lights dim, you will be transported to a magical
place filled with dancing snowflakes, a dashing prince, and
Tchaikovsky's majestic score based on one of the world's most beloved
ballets. Featuring original choreography by award winning
choreographer and Artistic Director Charles Maple, The Maple Youth
Ballet's The Nutcracker is a full-length rendition-with-a-twist of
E.T.A. Hoffmans time-honored classic which centers around Clara, a
young girl who yearns to one day become a professional ballerina.
In her dream she grows up and dances with her Nutcracker Prince in a
performance at the Kingdom of the Sweets.
It’s this new concept – a
ballet about ballet and a little girl’s passion to dance – that sets
Maple Youth Ballet’s Nutcracker apart from the others.
This unparalleled production will entertain audiences by its uplifting
surprises and special effects including a Christmas tree that grows to
55 feet and encompasses the entire stage.
Featuring more than 80 classically trained dancers from throughout
Southern California and a special guest appearance by Brian Waldrep,
from American Ballet Theatre’s ABT II, who will dance the Nutcracker
Prince – this is a production not to be missed! Brian Waldrep from American Ballet Theatre’s ABT II will dance the
Nutcracker Prince.
