In addition to extreme
sports, you'll find extreme everything at the US Open of
Surfing. Extreme beauty with bikini-clad ladies in skin
tight itty-bitty swim suits mix with not-so-beautiful
g-string clad gents riding bicycles down Main Street. From
cute to 'please!don't wear that', you're going to see an
amazing array of bodies, fashion and just about anything
(can't go nude, however, because HB is a clothing required
beach).
Attracting close to 1
million attendees, the beach event is held annually and had
been around in various incarnations for several decades.
In its current form, it is pure clean fun with lots of bowl
competitions for skate, surf and bike, lots of musical acts
performing just a song or two (there's seldom a full-on
concert, as they try to keep the crowds from becoming
overwhelming, thus avoiding a riot from the OP Pro event
that was disbanded), and lots of sand. Tons of it, to be
precise.
For those who simply
can't make it, or for those who hold a fondness for the
event, this web page is a tribute with break-out video
and photo pages to help commemorate the US Open. It comes
usually in late July and is sometimes also held in August.
It lasts from one Friday to the following week Sunday
finale, and it offers free entertainment, appealing to all
ages of folks from tiny tots to older adults.

Games.
In addition to the US
Open of Surfing, Huntington Beach has
annual, repeat events that are family oriented, offering
world class entertainment for all ages, and usually at quite
affordable prices. It's the beach, afterall! It doesn't cost
a dime.
