Huntington Beach has had a nature center for
many years--decades, in fact. But it fell into
disrepair, and became the eyesore of the parks
system. Now renovated with native plants, an
educational element offering students
in-the-field learning, and a welcoming
environment for the community, annual events
such as the Spring Festival bring the community
together to celebrate.

Fun games,
maypole dance, vendor booths, and tours through
the nature center make for a wonderful event
that welcomes the public, and springg!
In
previous events, our staff has documented the
Spring Festival for you to look at and enjoy.
City of Huntington Beach dignitaries have come
out to pitch in and celebrate, and other
ecological organizations in the city and region
have come to share the other assets this Orange
County coastal region offers. Be sure to
attend one of these fun-filled days, and if you
can't make it on the Saturday it is held, go
another Saturday or week day to experience the
butterflies, plants in bloom, birds chirping and
many things to explore in Central Park's Shipley
Nature Center.
