Amazing Women Who Changed the West
Huntington Beach, Calif.--ulitzer Prize-nominee
Craig MacDonald will speak about courageous, daring and
determined women, who changed society in their own way
during the 19th & early 20th Century.
One helped create Yosemite, another became the first woman
to vote, yet another helped disadvantaged youth, who went on
to become best-selling authors. Historian MacDonald, the
Contributing Editor of Sierra Heritage Magazine and a
longtime conference speaker, will recount the stories of
these largely unsung women who made the West a much better
place. A member of Phi Alpha Theta, the national history
honor society, MacDonald will autograph his latest book on
the Gold Rush.
Cost: Free
admission. Location: Newland Center, Newland Barn (behind
Newland House), Beach & Adams, Huntington Beach, CA
