Woody
Beachcruiser Classic Car Show - Huntington Beach, California
Huntington Beach--Nothing says California quite
like a woody at the Beachcruiser Car Show held annually in Huntington
Beach, California. The event is planned for one weekend in March
(probably the third weekend, subject to change).
The
annual BeachCruiser Meet in Huntington Beach is but one of dozens
such shows that are hosted by private car enthusiasts and car clubs
around California.
Shown above is a class wood with
some window stickers. You'll often see such stickers in woody cars. This
particular wood has stickers such as Maui Model by Greek (Bob Bolen);
Hawaiian Style, Woody's Diner, Cole, Thalia Street, Santa Cruz, Katin,
Pray for Surf, Greg Noll Surfboards, Endless Summer, Corky Carroll and
more.
The two-toned wood grain finish
set against a midnight blue metal pain is striking on the car shown in
this photograph. The automobile was parked on the Huntington Beach Pier,
overlooking the Pacific Ocean, and topped with two surfboards. Classic!
California coast has a selection
of woody and classic car shows throughout the year. In Huntington Beach,
you'll find the oldest, biggest unofficial car show in Orange County at
Adams Avenue Donuts each Saturday morning. This is where car
collectors, designers and car lovers come to look, adore, talk and even
swap stories and sometimes cars, themselves.
In addition to the weekly car
event, several parades feature a woody classic or two, including the 4th
of July Parade and the
Christmas parade on Main Street.
Additional car events held in
Huntington Beach include the annual Concours D'Elegance, Edison High
School Fundraiser
Flash from the Past classic car show, and an event at the Hilton
called Topless at the Beach.
