High Desert Spring Festival, in Ridgecrest, California, takes place May 05, 2017 and ends in May. This County Fair event is sponsored by Desert Empire Fair Board and will be located at Ridgecrest Fairgrounds, 520 South Richmond Road.
The annual High Desert Spring Festival in Ridgecrest, California offers four fun-filled days of entertainment for the whole family. Apart from the usual vendors selling everything from jewelry to toys, tools and pottery, the festival offers more than twenty different types of food from American and international tastes.
The festival originated in 1950 where it started out as a big top arena on a vacant lot. It has come a long way since then and today it hosts an impressive RV park on the fairgrounds with three motocross courses for the racing aficionados.
Apart from the usual fair treats like watching the colorful parade and having a go at the amusement rides that the fair has to offer, the High Desert Spring Fair is anything but average. The rodeo arena is a definite must see with bull riding, roping and barrel races that guarantee to keep you amused and entertained.
The livestock shows and auctions offer the farmers a chance at winning the bid for that prize bull while the bingo area and pie judging contest keeps their beloved ladies busy.
Treats for the children includes a wizard's challenge and a magic show with juggling, music, and storytelling to teach children the importance of agriculture in their lives. Take them around to the horse arena or livestock barns to further the learning experience with a chance to touch and see the animals up close.
The demolition derby will be sure to keep everyone on the edges of their seats and the King of the Desert Championship races with speed bikes and side-cars put the cherry on the cake for this festival.
For those that want to get the most out of the experience the fairgrounds offer more than a hundred RV hookups and ample bathroom and shower facilities so that you don't have to miss a second of the action.
