Carlsbad -- More than 245,000 forest green
Lego bricks create a holiday tree at LEGOLAND California. Adorned
with nearly 400 LEGO ornaments including new colorful bulbs and
1,000 lights, this LEGO brick tree towers over the main entrance of
the 128-acre family theme park in Carlsbad. It can be seen
throughout the holiday season during the month of December.
Celebrity guests switching the light on the tree have included the
esteemed Mr. Santa Claus, and actors such as Drew Seeley from
Disney's High School Musical. Along with beautiful Christmas songs
sung by such celebs, guests can watch fireworks light up the sky
when the tree is turned on. Ideal for all ages, this holiday event
welcomes children, adults, and those seeking something completely
unique such as a fantasy 30-foot tree made completely of Lego
bricks! The master builders added extra touches as
they decorated the U.S. Capitol
plaza in Miniland USA with a holiday tree.
LEGOLAND® California Tree Lighting Ceremony has changed
through years of tree lightings. Growing in its depth and scope, in
a previous year foster families were selected as
special guests, and Wendy’s Wonderful Kids presented $10,000, the
holiday has become more meaningful. More than 150,000 children of
the 500,000 in foster care in the U.S. are available for adoption,
sometimes waiting more than five years to be matched with a family.
Wendy’s Wonderful Kids was created to more quickly move thousands of
children out of foster care and into adoptive families.
Each year and holiday season
brings a change to Carlsbad's very best attraction (Carlsbad flower
fields and its beaches are two others.) The theme park offers
some additional Christmas surprises such as
Santa & reindeer made of
Lego bricks.
