Boardfest’s Myspace Site to Determine Performing Acts

’Coustic County Clash at Huntington Beach's HBoardfest, will feature a battle of the bands and musical entertainment competition with acts from Los Angeles, Orange, San Diego and Inland Empire counties. Finalists for this acoustic "Battle of the Bands" will be selected via Boardfest’s Myspace friends.

Boardfest’s action sports, music, movie and youth festival is held annually during the Labor Day Weekend (Aug-Sept) at the Huntington Beach Pier. In 2008, the dates are August 30 to September 1. More than 100,000 spectators attend over three days. Sponsored in part by Clear Channel’s 98.7 FM (KYSR), ’Coustic County Clash finalists will perform on Boardfest’s main stage, following in the footsteps of popular youth acts like Paramore, Cute Is What We Aim For and MTV’s Alex M. To be considered each band must submit their entry to mail@boardfest.com.

Submittals should include a brief video clip, biographical information and a website address.

Qualified bands will be posted on the Boardfest Myspace page for the "friends" vote. Approximately six acts will be selected as finalists and must play a tasteful, acoustic set. The winning band – determined by crowd response – will receive a cash prize.

Where action sports, music, movies and life collide, Boardfest ’08 showcases something for every level of involvement, synergistically weaving surfing, skateboarding and snowboarding competitions, surfing and skateboarding clinics, makeovers, empowerment activities, interactive exhibits, live entertainment, music, films, fashion shows, dancing and attractions.
