RBLL Snack bar Policy
The RBLL snack bar is a big source of revenue for the league. The management and staffing of each snack bar is done by volunteers. In order to adequately staff the snack bar throughout the season, RBLL requires all members to work two snack bar shifts for each child registered. Alternatively, members can choose to buy-out of their snack bar obligation by paying the buy-out fee at the time of registration.
If registering online, choose the “Snack bar buy-out” option when filling out the online registration form. Choosing this option will automatically add $70 to your registration fee to cover the buy-out cost. If registering with a check or cash, inform the registration staff that you want to buy-out of your snack bar obligation and $70 will be added to your registration fee to cover the buy-out cost.
Buy-outs can only be done at the time of registration.
Snack bar Volunteer Process
If registering online, choose the “Snack bar volunteer” option when filling out the online registration form. If registering with a check or cash, inform the registration staff that you want to volunteer to work in the snack bar.
Below is the step by step process:
Teams are selected towards the end of January. A reliable team parent should be identified for each team shortly after the teams are selected.
RBLL sends a team roster to each team parent.
The team parent collects a snack bar $100 deposit check made payable to RBLL from the parents of each player on the team. Players will not receive their uniform until they submit their snack bar deposit check to the team parent. The team parent is responsible for holding on to the snack bar deposit checks. NOTE: for parents with multiple children, we ask that you submit one snack bar check for each child to simplify the league’s tracking process.
When working a snack bar shift, parents must sign in and specify the player’s name they are working for.
Each week, the RBLL snack bar manager will email the team parents a list of the snack bar workers, by player name, who have completed their required snack bar shifts.
Based on the list provided by the RBLL snack bar manager, the team parent will return the check to the parents who have completed their snack bar obligation. Under no circumstances should the team parent return any checks prior to receiving the email from the RBLL snack bar manager indicating which parents have completed their shifts.
At the end of the year, the team parent will turn in all checks that have not been returned to the parents to the RBLL snack bar manager
Refunds may be requested before the first scheduled game of the season but will be subject to a processing fee. No refunds can be issued once games start.
In non-competitive divisions (T-Ball & Single A), we will try our best to honor your requests to be placed on teams with friends and with a specific manager. However, once teams have been put together, a registrant will be placed on a team with the fewest players.
Try-outs are planned for Jan 14 & 15, 2012 at Anderson & Dominguez Parks depending on division. See the website: Redondolittleleague.com for divisional start times. T-Ball players only do not need to try-out.
The RBLL draft will take place at the end of January 2012. You will be contacted by your team manager by phone or email for practice information taking place in February. Opening Day is scheduled for Sat. March 3, 2012.
Each player will receive a cap & jersey which they will be able to keep at the end of the season. Each player will need to provide their own cleats, pants, belt and socks. For T-Ball, cleats are not necessary, but are helpful as the field can be slippery after rains.
