This lovely hotel with restaurants and shops sits on a hill above Doheny Beach and Dana Point Harbor. Roof top architecture reminiscent of Hotel del Coronado in San Diego greets guests who drive past the rich, green lawns of the neighborhood park and continue through the entry, past the beautiful flowers and flags. As you enter, you know you are in for a treat as you look up to see people standing on the balconies of their rooms, enjoying the forever views.  The day we visited, a wedding was ready to begin on the grass lawn below the dining deck that faces out to the harbor.  The temperature was a perfect 76 degrees F. and people enjoyed the outdoor swimming pools which were staffed with drink bars. There was outdoor ping pong, tennis and strolls down to the beach, a block away.

We can see why this resort is often booked. In fact, we received so many questions from website guests about this hotel and Doheny Beach, we decided we needed to investigate.  Thanks to your requests, we went and checked it out.  It is a great place and well worth the extra expense, compared to several hotels nearby that are fine, but lack the views and the resort atmosphere.
