Dog
Beach for Dogs and Pets in Huntington Beach California Photos and
Information
Dog Beach goes to the Dogs in Huntington Beach's City Beach:
Bring a Towel
Huntington Beach Dog Beach is located in
a portion of Huntington City Beach parallel to Pacific Coast Highway
(PCH) between Seapoint Street and Golden West StreetTo
park your car when driving from the south on PCH, you must make
a U-turn to enter the parking lots between Seapoint and Golden
West Streets, where pay meters charge $0.25 per 10 minutes.
Dog
Beach is a public beach located down a sloped hill north of the
parking lots. You can see people without dogs there, as well,
and lots of surfers, surf camps for children mostly during the
summer months, Junior
Lifeguards surf program and sometimes
ocean kayaking. While Huntington Beach Dog Beach is a
very popular spot to take
your canine friends, the popularity of such dog-friendly
beaches has grown and other areas also have created
policies to allow owners to bring pets, including San
Diego's Ocean Beach and Long Beach. Dogs are not allowed on other beaches
in Huntington Beach and owners will be asked to leave if they bring dogs
to other portions of Huntington City Beach or Bolsa Chica
State Beach and Huntington State Beach.
While
Huntington Beach, California is a pet-friendly city, the
hotel options for pet accommodations are very limited.
As of this writing, only one resort, Hilton Waterfront
Beach Resort has a policy to accept pets of 10 pounds or
less. If you are traveling in an RV, you can keep your
pet with you in nearby Bolsa Chica State Beach,
Huntington City Beach's Sunset Vista RV Camping or Huntington by the Sea RV camping
facility.
