It's hard to keep a
straight face when you stay at Disneyland Hotel. As you park your car or
arrive by taxi or Disney Airporter Bus, your first tip off that's
something's different is the monorail zooming by. As you head toward the
entrance to the hotel, the buzz is much like an airport with lots of
activity surrounding you.
First, there's a
bronzed Mickey Mouse to greet guests before they step into the door of
the hotel. Did someone say "photo op?" We've even seen a bride and groom
stand next to the Mickey statue in their formal attire. It almost
sounds funny. As you go inside this nice hotel, there's a gift
store made for tourists. The masters of merchandise know what sells and
they do a whopping business. Just outside the gift shop and to your
right, you'll find Goofy's Kitchen where the kids can come down in the
morning to meet the storybook characters of Disneyland and get a photo
taken by the house photographer. While you eat, your picture is packaged
for you to pick up.
The fun just never
seems to stop when you stay at the park and sure, it costs a bit more.
But for those who want a weekend getaway and have decided money's not
the issue here, go ahead and be in the heart of it all. Just outside
your door is Downtown Disney shops and dining with House of Blues and
many other entertainment venues.
Adornments include
Mickey Mouse lamps, bed posts, framed art, soaps, shampoo and a TV
channel with all the activities and videos to entice you to stay longer.
Outside is a walkway to fantastic dining, conference facilities,
socializing and both theme parks nearby.
