Artful-Blend Gallery in the historic city of Roseville includes fine art paintings, sculpture, ceramics,
glass and even crafted jewelry gathered under one roof and the skillful eye of owner Deidre Trudeau. The vivacious and
talented artist/owner collects unique pieces not seen elsewhere.
What makes her gallery so special? Perhaps it's Trudeau's keen sense for
arrangement of color and space seen in her acrylic painting, Crevasse, which
draws you in, much like the gallery entices you to enter. Anything but shy,
the savvy marketing executive and artist sets convention aside in favor of
exploration as she places a subtle landscape painting of pastel hues next to
a modern art piece so bright it almost vibrates. In this studio space
she opened as her second venture in downtown Roseville, Trudeau displays a
variety of fine art paintings next to ceramic creations in a manner that
awakens the senses. On special occasions such as the wine and art tours
she's helped organize, guests are poured samples of locally crafted wines to
round out the experience conceptualized in the naming of the business,
Artful-Blend.
Growing from a studio, Artful i, located in a house, to a 2-story loft space
near Vernon Street in the heart of Old-Town Roseville shopping district,
Trudeau has injected energy and enthusiasm into the Renaissance movement
this Northern California city enjoys as it embraces its historic treasures,
tying them to arts and culture. She helps promote special events such as the
Autumn Art Studios Tour in which visitors can sample wines at local wineries
located in the beautiful Sierra Nevada foothills as they look over the
shoulders of working artists.
Throughout the year Trudeau features artist exhibits in her gallery and
invites the public to meet local and national talent. The former marketing
executive with a creative spark and passion for art, shares a vision to help
revitalize Roseville's older downtown area through outreach such as the
gallery's rotating exhibits, special events, classes and programs attracting
locals and visitors to experience Old-Town. Trudeau offers art clinics and
classes in her gallery on a regular basis and participates in the Placer Valley
Third Saturday Art Tour, an art walk that includes galleries and studios in
historic and newer sections of Roseville.
Started several
years ago, Third Saturday Art Walk has grown to include galleries from Roseville to
Lincoln and Loomis. Held once a year, the Autumn Art Studios Tour presents
more than 90 artists at work in their studios over a three-day period, from
Roseville to Colfax.
