The Crowne Plaza Hotel Ventura Beach
formerly operated as a Holiday Inn has undergone a renovation, making the
time to visit and stay in Ventura, now! The beds are supreme, views
stunning and the City of Ventura and beaches are simply fun, friendly and
ever so relaxing.
Views, views and views! Whether you
look to the north or south, you'll see the ocean from most rooms of this
hotel. It's convenient location near the Amtrak station and downtown
Ventura three blocks away make this a weekend or week day getaway you'll not
regret, not forget and absolutely love. But only if you like beaches, great
dining and options such as shopping, museums and movies.
We've reported on this hotel for
several years and done so with a bit of trepidation, not wanting to see the
rates go up as people rediscover this great coastal gem. Outside the hotel
is the Ventura Pier where you can dine, shop and fish for free. Or just take
a pier stroll and look at the photos and history of the pier and region in
the displays.
Got kids? Take them down to the beach
to the swing sets and playground. No here's a novel concept--giving tots a
place to play right on the beach. Most beaches in California "get it" but
there are still some who haven't quite figured out this element of
tourism....or they don't care. Needless to say, this place is kid-friendly.
But for biz travelers or people like
me who work and play all in one, the high speed complimentary Internet is
mighty fine! I can post these stories and photos with ease while enjoying
the breeze as I sit in an adjustable leather work chair at a work desk, with
a big sliding glass door and small, step-out balcony a few feet from the
desk. Such amenities are subject to change but on my visit, everything was
absolutely top notch. The price, the quality and location all added up to my
fantastic beach vacation!
