Huntington Beach Coffee and Starbucks
If
you think Huntington Beach'ians (residents of Huntington
Beach) aren't hooked on coffee, just drive along most
major streets and report back how many Starbucks are
there. Within several years Starbucks coffee has
expanded its offerings to dozens of stand alone stores
and grocery store kiosks. You'll seldom drive far before
spotting that green logo.
Coffee drinks have taken the nation by storm, and that
applies to Huntington Beach as well. The year
round warm climate makes for great frozen blends and
even tasty fruit drinks now offered as healthy choices.
In
addition to Starbucks, there are a few alternate coffee
shops for those who refuse to shop at Starbucks (several
of our friends are that way.) We've tried Diedrichs and
Pete's Coffee, and haven't been impressed, sorry to say.
But our friends think Pete's or any other offering has
to be better than Starbucks (it's clearly a matter of
opinion.) One easy drive-through Starbucks is located on
Pacific Coast Highway at Peter's Landing. It's
fantastic, because you never have to get out of your car
to get your coffee on the run.
When
visiting Huntington Beach, you'll find a Starbuck near
the Huntington Beach Pier on Main and Olive. But right
around the corner, No Ka Oi sells a rich Hawaiian blend
you may want to try or take home as a souvenir.
Also downtown is a surfboard java style shop called Java
Jungle on the corner of PCH & 5th St., and another
coffee kiosk in the Huntington Surf and Sport Store.
There you can sit among the surfboard displays and drink
your brew or blend.
