Huntington Beach, California and its population of nearly

their time to organizations that either serve the needy, share in a hobby or
perform some function to enhance and enrich the local community, the nation
and the world.
There are hundreds of clubs and organizations providing
services to the elderly, disabled, youth, and those seeking jobs or business
assistance. Clubs also offer communion, activities, service projects, sports

Project Self-Sufficiency Update -
Wheelchair Shortage - Huntington Beach Senior Services lends
wheelchairs, walkers, and canes to Huntington Beach seniors or adult
children. These medical aids can fulfill a temporary need to recover from an
injury, a visit from an out-of-state relative, a special occasion where the
walking involved is excessive, or a need of longer duration when Medicare
doesn't cover the cost of a prohibitively expensive wheelchair. At this
time, Senior Services needs more wheelchairs for their lending service in
order to meet the demand. If you have a wheelchair gathering dust in your
garage, please consider a tax-deductible donation. You can bring the
wheelchair into the Outreach Center anytime Monday-Friday between 8:30 a.m.-
4:00 p.m. The center's address is 1718 Orange Avenue. Or call 714-960-2478
to arrange a pick-up.
