Photo above shows the beaches of Corona del
Mar. They include spectacular, tucked away coves and an open beach filled with
stretches of sand just over the other side of a huge rock promontory. A
As you find the stairway or hop over some
rocks to access the stairs leading to this cove shown in the photo above,
you'll discover this is a path for the fit. Do not try it if you legs don't
work or you fear walking and slight climbing. Once down in the
cove you'll notice it happens to be one of the most trafficked points in
Corona del Mar. As you sit on the view benches above and look down at the
people, you can't help but become curious as to what it's like, just being
down there. There are some cool, dark cave-like spots to get out of
the sun and sit in the shade of the rock. The beach is small, intimate, and
subject to tides that can wash most of it away. People love to sit and read
books, let the kids play in the nooks and gaze out on the boats that edge
their way closer to the harbor exit for a wide-ocean escape.
Corona
del Mar is a community that celebrated its 100th birthday in 2004. It
grew up as a beach side resort and was once known for its pier and surfing.
Now there is no surfing
since a jetty was built to exit the Newport Beach harbor where a series of
manmade islands were constructed in the early 1900s to lure tourists to what
could have been mistaken for swampland.
Corona del Mar and pricey
Newport Beach now enjoy property values in the millions of dollars thanks to
the far-sighted inspirations of developers who had a dream. The fantastic
weather, a harbor and scenic hillsides have all contributed to making this
destination a beautiful treasure guests enjoy and dream about.
Newport Beach has the
popular ring to its name. There's a Newport, Rhode Island that appears on
search engines when you investigate Newport Beach. Corona del Mar is not
well known beyond the local region, but its loyal fans consider it a
separate entity from the city it is regulated by. The beaches of
Corona del Mar include sections separated by rock formations. Houses are
built overlooking the beaches and in some locations, there's scant parking
for beach attendance. The primary parking facility for beaches is located at
Corona del Mar State Beach (Big Corona) seen in the photo above at the left
side. It is recognizable for its straight geometry created by humans carving
out a beach with a protective sea wall.
Hotels near Corona del
Mar where tourists can stay include the Fashion Island properties nearby,
the
Marriott Newport Beach Hotel And Tennis Club
and
Marriott's Newport Coast Villas,
two fine hotels offering great amenities and location.
