Museums and botanical gardens abound, yet there are also beach sports such as volleyball, skating, surrey rides, walking, jogging, and events throughout the year. You can hop aboard a yacht to see the whales off-coast, take a boat daily to the Channel Islands to explore, visit Cachuma Lake nearby for great bird watching and camping, or just stay in town for shopping.
