Desert hotels in California range from top five diamond resorts to cheap rooms some travelers can afford and even prefer. The chain hotels range from Ritz Carlton and Hyatt to Comfort Inn, Days Inn and the popular Best Western. We've booked Best Western hotels in the Palm Desert region and found them a fair deal, especially if you have the option to move. Checking in early is often the key when you arrive to being able to move from one room to another, should you find yourself less than satisfied with the cheap or budget rooms. What's most important is the bed, the air conditioning and location. You probably will have a car when visiting the desert, as public transportion either doesn't exist out there, or is minimal. With that in mind, location is most important when you've hitched a ride, or are at a convention in places such as Palm Springs. However, since the land is so spread out, parking isn't usually a problem and you can simply drive to the convention center from other hotels as necessary.
