Coronado, California Vacations



Coronado is one of Southern California's great vacation destinations with lovely hotels on beaches and lots of things to see and do. Add to that the nearly perfect year-round weather and you have a recipe for spectacular vacations. Coronado is located on an island with a bay that overlooks downtown San Diego skyline. City lights shine at night, soft sand beaches, trolley tours, a ferry to the San Diego, golf and one of the best known hotels in the world, Hotel del Coronado are all on Coronado Island.

Coronado's architecture is one of its trademarks, as shown in the picture above of the once boat house for the Hotel del Coronado that sits above this building up on the hill. The popular restaurant we've dined at for years (has been a Chart House), is close to and within walking distance of the Coronado playhouse theater which features popular musicals and plays such as "Hello Dolly".

Your best bet for night life in Coronado is catching a play, roasting hotdogs at the beach, or seeing a jazz trio in a local bar. For hot times on cool nights, head over by ferry, bus, taxi or car to downtown San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter for sizzling music and dancing.
