We've done walk-throughs of several newer chain hotels and have found them to be outstanding in the decor, locations, and accommodations. The newer chains are a great bonus for travelers seeking a beach destination minus the incredible bustle of the next door neighbor's Shell and Pismo Beaches. While both cities offer outstanding and plentiful chain hotels, Avila Beach properties are closer to sea level, thus easier access to the beach from your room. A stay at AVila is on our list of to-do's and since our staff is pretty selective, we feel you'll probably be happy booking a room in Avila.
