Popular with sailors, Casa Sirena is
located at a Marina. There's such beauty and grandeur in the waters
off the California coast in the Channel Islands National Park which consists
of 249,354 acres, half of which are under the ocean. Seen above are two
of the islands Anacapa (left) and Santa Cruz (right), which are part of
a series of 5 islands included in the National Park. The others are San
Miguel, Santa Rosa and Santa Barbara. Even though the islands seem tantalizingly
close to the densely populated, southern California coast, their isolation
has left them relatively undeveloped, making them an exciting place for
visitors to explore. Unlike the Catalina Island "Club Med" experience,
we at BEACHCALIFORNIA.COM dreamed of going to the Channel Islands and found
them refreshingly devoid of restaurants, bikes and golf carts to drive
around. There are no skate parks, golf courses or horse stables. No campfires
are allowed and everything you carry in must be carried out.
What a perfect vacation, whether
you are sailing or driving, to visit Oxnard and take a day trip to the
islands. You can also stay in Ventura and take the same charters
through Island Packers. Either way, you are in for a treat. While
the resort just over 1 mile away enjoys a beach at Embassy
Suites -Mandalay Beach, Casa Sirena has the harbor at its door, with
the beach a short walk or drive away. If you are looking for those perfect
places that maintain the beach community charm, Oxnard captures that small
town feeling.
