Carlton Hotel,
an historic three-story boutique hotel, the
investment of Paso Robles millionaire David Weyrich,
who spent approx. $12 million renovating the
Carlton, includes a ground floor coffee shop-bakery
and a spacious restaurant. Fresh ground coffees are
used in gourmet lattés, cappuccinos and delicious
blended drinks to whet your whistle on a hot
Atascadero summer day. Carrot cake, German chocolate
and English Toffee are but a few of the confections
you can munch on while savoring the atmosphere and
confections.
Weyrich
infusion of capital into this historic building and
a downtown ripe for growth and change, has helped
catapult Atascadero into destination status. Easy
access to the wine country of San Luis Obispo
County, enjoy sampling and purchasing some locally
crafted wines that are growing in reputation and
popularity from Tablas Creek Vineyard, Adelaida
Cellars, Denner, Mastantuono, Castoro Cellars and
many more. Some of the wineries feature summer
concerts and special events to enjoy.
For the fresh
flavors of locally grown fruits and vegetables, be
sure to save some room for North Coast Farmer's
Market, held on the lush, grass lawns in front of
the historic City Hall.
