California Weekends - Californians Getaway
California weekends are the great escape getaways that would not be complete without a stay at
the fabulous
Orange County Hotels.
For starters, you might want to stay at oceanside resorts that include
dining, concerts, shopping and diverse nightlife. For those
visiting Southern California on a weekend,
Huntington Beach
is easily accessible from three major airports. John
Wayne/Orange County (SNA) is about 15 minutes away, and Surf
City can generally be reached in 30 to 45 minutes from Long
Beach (LGB) and Los Angeles International (LAX). No stay would
be complete without visiting the best that Southern California
has to offer. Be sure to check out Huntington Beach, Newport
Beach, Costa Mesa and Los Angeles, all a hop, skip and jump from
each other.
Other coastal vacation destinations in Orange County include the next door neighbor to HB, Newport Beach. A fun zone, jetty, ferry, beaches, two piers and trips to Catalina Island are some of the spectacular enjoyments here. A few popular hotels we enjoy in this region include the renovated Balboa Bay Club on beach and our favorite resort hotel, Hyatt Newporter.
For affordable accommodations, don't forget to check out two hotels that feature prices to allow you more money to spend at Disneyland. They include Holiday Inn Express and Marriott Suites near Newport Beach's Back Bay.
Moving up the coast to the quintessential Surf
City is Santa Cruz. Beautiful beach and
the popular coastal getaway resorts such as
Coast Santa Cruz Hotel will make your stay at this surfing
haven the finest vacation as your visit the Boardwalk and take a
train ride up into the mountains of
Felton. Get out of California to see Las Vegas and The Strip! Los Angelinos, Orange County beach people and the world flies or drives daily to Las Vegas. It's an escape, if but for just a day or two. We plotted a chart, asked for lots of opinions on hotels and threw away a voucher for a free room at a budget property to stay at the luxury Bellagio Resort. It was worth it! Las Vegas offers about 150 hotels, some of them as large as cities. Here's a breakdown of some of the room numbers at the larger properties. You could actually live in these hotels! What's really amazing is that they are mostly down the street from each other and you can walk to them to look around. They welcome tourists. They want your business.
