Old
Pasadena Tree Light Ceremony includes Santa's Arrival
Winter Wonderland with
Snow & Live Holiday Music
OLD PASADENA, Calif. —
Old Pasadena Tree Lighting Ceremony, Santa Arrival, Live
Music and Snow herald the holidays in Pasadena's beautiful
historic district with its ornate buildings and ambience that
makes even the building tops look like lit candles at night
during the holiday season running from the day after
Thanksgiving to the New Year. Bring your Christmas cheer
to enjoy free holiday festivities throughout the district
starting the day after Thanksgiving.
Spectacular performances, Santa’s arrival, live reindeer, real
snow and a magical tree-lighting ceremony are guaranteed to
start your holidays with joy! All activities take place the
weekend after Thanksgiving each year.
Old Pasadena’s own winter wonderland
located on Holly Street between Raymond and Fair Oaks will open
for kids, who can play in 30 tons of real snow, see live
reindeer fresh from the North Pole, ride a holiday choo-choo
train, draw in a kids’ art area sponsored by The Armory Center
for the Arts, and enjoy live music at this spectacular
children’s winter playground.
Santa normally arrives to light the dazzling
35-foot Christmas tree as the 90th Rose Queen® makes an
appearance. The One Colorado Courtyard will also host a
heart-warming holiday performance by the Pasadena Tabernacle
Children’s chorus, which is made up of 80 children from the
Pasadena area. The audience is invited to sing-along to the
concert, which will be filled with everyone’s seasonal
favorites.
Guests bring unwrapped toys or books to the Tree-Lighting.
Toys collected at this Charles Cherniss Tournament of Toys event
will benefit children throughout San Gabriel Valley. Children
and adults who donate an unwrapped toy or book receive a
FREE photo with Santa at One Colorado on the day of tree
lighting only. Gifts are also being collected throughout
the season in Smith Alley near Il Fornaio at One Colorado,
Pasadena Senior Center, as well as at numerous locations
throughout Pasadena .
Pasadena’s largest holiday celebration is a free community event
presented by One Colorado, Old Pasadena Management District,
Pasadena Star-News and the Pasadena Jaycees .
