OJAI -
Ojai is one of California's cool places to visit, and offers the
perfect setting for some of the hottest bands in an annual event
playing tribute to classic rock. Many of the classics are
authentic, such as legendary Jackie Lomax, known as the man who
was signed to Apple Records with the Beatles.
California's tribute bands
are honestly as good as the originals (because they're younger
(OUCH!), and they deliver the on the sounds, look and music that
the originals brought to stage decades ago, providing young and
old an opportunity to see what those bands were like in the
early days of classic rock. One we've seen, for instance, is
Cubensis, a band that delivers on Grateful Dead music. You'd
swear you were in some cool little town such as Ojai, listening
to one of the gigs the Dead did as they traveled the California
coast, bringing days and nights of music that was truly a trip!
