4th Annual Mariposa Rotary Fine Art & Wine
Festival
Saturday, May 31, 2008
12 am to 7 pm
Courthouse Park, Mariposa, CA
The beautiful Mariposa Historic Courthouse will again be the delightful setting
for viewing of a variety of art, tasting great wines and enjoying tasty foods
with family and friends. Live music adds to the afternoon's spice.
Fifteen wineries will pour local wines and over 30 Sierra Foothill Artists will
be presenting their unique work at the festival. Sierra Foothills appellation
wineries are known for their hearty reds each with their own distinct fresh
aroma filled berry flavors. Most of the wineries will be represented by their
proprietors and you will be able to "ask the winemaker" questions about their
hand crafted vintages.
Among Mariposa wineries participating are
Villa Spalla Winery, Butterfly Creek, Chappell Vineyard, Silver Fox, Mount
Bullion Vineyard, Mariposa Wine Company and wineries from other Foothill
counties.
Grilled sandwiches, baked goods, salads and sweets are available for
purchase, plus wine, beer and non-alchoholic beverages.
Free admission. $10 to taste wine

Where to stay for visitors to the region
wanting to attend this event: Hotel availability seems somewhat limited in this
popular region. We checked rates and available hotel rooms for the date of this
event and at the time we check (2 months ahead), there were several that offered
rooms.
Best Western Yosemite Way Station Motel
was one of them and the other was
Comfort Inn Mariposa. Their prices were somewhat similar. If you booked a
month or two ahead, you may find a room at the popular
Tenaya Lodge, a Yosemite favorite!
