Gay Parade West Hollywood: Lesbian, Gay, Bi, Transgender Pride Festival

The West Hollywood Gay Parade: Lesbian, Gay, Bi, Transgender Pride Festival

Friday is Dyke March and Rally along Sunset Strip. The Sunday Parade runs west along Santa Monica Boulevard from Crescent Heights Boulevard to Robertson Boulevard.

WEST HOLLYWOOD, California's Los Angeles LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bi, Transgender) Pride Festival and Parade annual festival event, is coming to WEHO (West Hollywood). The location of this street and city-packed celebration is along Santa Monica Boulevard and throughout West Hollywood Park. Our Agenda: Love. Equality. PRIDE. This is the theme of the event, a theme three years in practice. Pride in family, community, and the world around you is what the event is about as visitors and local residents come together for a colorful parade, vendor booths, food, exhibits, dance pavilions and live entertainment.

One of the largest Pride Celebrations in the nation is hosted annually in West Hollywood, home to Southern California’s largest gay and lesbian population. Recognized as a leader in gay and lesbian rights, this California city is extremely proud of its forward looking approach to many issues, including alternate lifestyle choices and the rights of those who work and live in the USA. Produced by Christopher Street West (CSW; a non-profit organization), the annual three-day event is one of the successful Christopher Street West events and though extremely fun, its demeanor is slightly more subdued than the West Hollywood Carnaval held in October each year.

LA Pride acts will or have included musicians Joss Stone, Olivia Newton-John, and Kimberly Locke. “Silent Celebration” takes place at 12 Noon on Sunday, June 8, where a moment of silence will be shared by nearly 400,000 parade goers. The moment of silence offers everyone an opportunity to commemorate those who are no longer with us – brothers and sisters, mothers and fathers, friends, partners and other loved ones. This inclusion departs from previous events in which those who lost lives to AIDS were commemorated is a fantastic celebration that allows everyone attending to remember someone who has passed.

The festival itself will host food and vendor booths and dance tents – all set along West Hollywood’s most happening strip of road, home to popular gay clubs, restaurants and cafes. On Friday, an After Party will follow the annual Friday night Dyke March and Rally.
