Lakeport Kulture Shock Car

LAKEPORT- Kulture Shock Car Show is one of many events the town of Lakeport on beautiful
Clearlake, plays host to throughout the year. This popular fishing destination also holds many
fishing contests and competitions. Departing from that sport, cars are another favorite sport
that are celebrated in car gatherings such as the cool, Kulture Shock Car Show.
Started in 2005 by nostalgia car lover, Rick Rose, this car show is a step back in time to the
50’s & 60’s era incorporating 1964 and older hot rods, customs, gassers, classics, vintage race
cars along with original and traditional 50’s & 60’s chopper and bobber style
motorcycles.
Held at the
Lake County Fairgrounds in Lakeport, this show is located in the beautiful country an hour
northeast of Calistoga and Napa wine country or two hours by car northwest of Sacramento.
Clear Lake is recognized as the best bass fishing lake in the United States based on number of
fish caught. Fishing, boating, water skiing and hiking trails, are all activities tourists enjoy
when visiting and attending events such as the Kulture Shock Car Show in Lakeport.
The 5th Annual Kulture Shock Car Show (in 2010) features their “signature $1 beer”, affordable food, live
bands playing throughout the day, a huge raffle and “Miss Kulture Shock” strolling the shady
tree-lined grounds. The vendors are all keeping with the “50’s & 60’s theme” including lowbrow
artwork, tikis, pin-stripers, vintage clothing, nostalgic hats, a hair booth doing 50’s & 60’s
hair styles and much more.
Cost to enter car: $20 by May 1, 2010 and $25 after date or at
gate. General admission is $5/person; Free/under 5 years. With each paid entry receive a
discount coupon to the Lakeport Speedway circle-track racing venue following the car show.
