All American Boys Chorus offers patriotic songs and
displays of the USA flags
representing the country and
military segments.
You may not have to travel to California to see The
All-American Boys Chorus. Though
they do perform in the state,
they also travel around the
globe, singing in sweet,
youthful voices and beautiful
harmony that captures the
essence of Americana, spiritual
and a show tunes that lend
themselves to special events.
Wearing bright red matching jackets and navy slacks, this
California-based singing group
is not to be confused with the
Princeton-based American
Boychoir, an established group
with its own special school.
The California choir performs a 40 - 50 concert tour and is
unique in that applicants for
the choir need not have previous
singing experience. Personality
is a plus in being selected for
this group which experiences an
extensive tour and performance
schedule. Parents are probably
the biggest supporters of their
youth as they must be prepared
to sponsor and pay for their
kids' trips. Ranging in age from
8 to 15 years, the youth sing
not only at churches, weddings
and corporate functions, but are
invited to perform at various
cities and special events around
the globe. While they are lesser
known that the Princeton, New
Jersey boys singing choir, the
are popular for their similar
appearance and repertoire.
Singing with the likes of recording artist Josh Groban, the
choir appeared on a television
production, Christmas from
Disney. Because many of
their concerts are held in
California, the boys generally
come from a region surrounding
Costa Mesa where they practice.
Los Angeles, Riverside and
Orange County are the three main
counties that the talent comes
from, and auditions are
regularly announced on their
website for open positions that
become available (see taabc.org)
In existence for over 30 years, the choir has recorded many
cd's and records during that
time. Current cd's include
holiday samplers, tour songs and
several other cd's sold on their
website. Claiming over 1,000
alumni, those who have
participated in the program
enthusiastically continue to
support its mission and very
existence after they have grown
up. The organization, operated
as a non-profit, accepts
donations and support.
