Traditions from around the Globe
SEASIDE -
ZANU/PULSE combines the talents of Ethos
Percussion Group, Grammy Award-winning frame drummer Glen Velez
and Bernard Woma. Zanu/Pulse explores the impact of percussion
music and drumming in Middle Eastern, African, Native American,
and South American "world beat" traditions. Some of the world's
top talents on one stage will move you with their motion and
beat. This event is part of a national tour. Location: Cal State
University, Monterey Bay, World Theater, Sixth Ave., Seaside, CA

LA JOLLA - THE
SEVEN. A play adapted from Aeschylus' “Seven Against Thebes", is
Greek tragedy meets hip-hop in writer/composer Will Power's
modern adaptation of Aeschylus' story of a cursed family and a
society unsure of how to free itself from war. Power's urban
remix, with rhyming verse and diverse musical styles, shines
with relevance through the eyes of a new generation. Contains
adult language. Runs through March 16, 2008. Performance
