SANTA BARBARA - Paper Cut. Art From Scrap (AFS)
Exhibit capitalizes on the remains and excesses of the holiday
season. 18 artists (mostly from Santa Barbara) create artwork
from reused or recycled paper products, transforming pulp based
materials into works of art such as sculpture, drawing,
painting, collage, photography, printmaking and installation.
The event aims to inspire individuals to enact positive cultural
and environmental change through art. Runs till Feb. 16, 2008.
Artists include Gail Pine, Matt Straka, Bob Debris, Noah
Erenberg, Julia Ford, Penelope Gottlieb and many more. Time: 10

Words Exhibit - at
Charles M. Schulz Museum and Research Center. Beyond Words
examines those Peanuts strips in which Charles Schulz dispensed
with dialogue and used only pictures to tell the story. The
strips in Beyond Words are designed to complement The Language
of Lines: How Cartoonists Communicate, encouraging readers to
make sense of the strips based on visual cues, iconography, and
their knowledge of the Peanuts characters. Location: Charles M.
