DANVILLE - The 6th Hats Off America Red T-Shirt 10K Run/5K Walk will be held beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 10, 2007 at Sycamore Valley Park , 2101 Holbrook Drive , Danville , rain or shine. Entry fee is $35 per person. All runners and volunteers will receive a red t-shirt and a barbecue lunch after the run. There is no entry fee for volunteers.

Hats Off America was created by Sparky George, owner of Classic Car Auto Restoration and Repair in San Ramon, a Vietnam vet and the “Bear Flag Runner” of Danville . In honor of service personnel being deployed in Iraq , the Bear Flag Runner has been running six miles a night, five days a week since September 15, 2002 . ALAMEDA - Celebrate Black History Month onboard the Aircraft Carrier USS Hornet Museum with special exhibits and family activities. Oakhurst automotive enthusiast and former pro racer Dave Wolin, the Oakhurst Area Chamber of Commerce and The Met Cinema have invented a film festival for car enthusiasts; possibly the first of it’s kind anywhere. Southern Yosemite Automotive Film Festival will featuring automotive related films from the 50’s through today and offer something for everyone. Film legend James Garner will be the recipient of the “Southern Yosemite Lifetime Achievement Award” for his work in automotive films and both his auto racing blockbuster, “Grand Prix” and his documentary “The Racing Scene” will be screened. Hard to find films like “Two Lane Blacktop” from 1971, as well as perennial favorites such as “LeMans” and “Days of Thunder”, all best seen on a big screen, and dozens more, will be shown over a five day period.
