| California Train Museum List
California Train
Museums are amazingly diverse, and important in preserving a significant
era and its artifacts in the settlement of California in the early
1800's. While we have not visited a large portion of the museums, some
of our very favorites include the Roaring Camp Railroad in Felton
because of its amazing rides, California State Railroad Museum because
of its pristine collection of cars, trains and memorabilia, and Orange
Empire Railroad Museum because of its extensive collection of rail cars
significant to transportation in Los Angeles and California during the
early to mid-20th century.
California's
history of the train is fascinating. The state was often the final stop
for a train route during the era in which the nation's infrastructure of
transportation was initially built in the mid-to-late 1800s. Trains
still connect California with the rest of the nation, and throughout
California, a variety of local trains, Amtrak, and trains in museums or
operated as historic rides offer a glimpse into a totally different
lifestyle in which people connect and have an experience that often
features unique views of the topography and landscape of California and
its destinations. In the right column we've even featured
theme parks you can click to and buy tickets that have train or tram
rides. Disneyland has a fantastic train. Knott's Berry Farm's train is
awesome, too.
