Hotel on right, on beach.  Area Airport: Monterey Peninsula    Best Western Monterey Beach Hotel  (seen in both the top aerial photo and the beach shot above) is one of the very few hotels with a sand beach along this region of the rugged, Monterey California coast.   A stay at the Best Western Monterey Beach Hotel is ideal for beach lovers. Stop at the beach, listen to the waves, stroll the sand walkways and gaze at views of the gently-sloped mountains of Monterey, at this beach-on-site hotel. Lawn chairs on a glass patio enclosed deck look out to the ocean and on the top floor of the hotel is a restaurant (light breakfast faire included at time of this publication, subject to change). The view of the ocean and bay are just breath-taking.  At night the twinkling city lights of downtown Monterey can be seen across the bay.    Monterey Beach Resort - swimming pool photos ;  more information ;  Beach photos slide show The rooms themselves are not particularly large, though mine included a a small table and chairs. It was on the third floor overlooking the swimming pool and inland view. On the ocean side you look directly over the Pacific Ocean. Moss Landing is visible to the north. Surfers, joggers and sandcastle builders find this hotel, which is surrounded by a state beach, to be one of the most enjoyable vacation spots, though Monterey has many to enjoy and love, as does Carmel.    The temperature on this wind-swept beach can be warm but often on the cool side but on a warm summer, day, it's simply paradise.
