Burlingame does very well with its hotel offerings. In case you
don't know why, it happens to be the city in which the San Francisco
Airport (SFO) is located.
That's a really good reason. Take-offs and landings are in the
millions each year at SFO, and the surrounding
Burlingame neighborhood of hotels are superb for business and
vacation travelers and for conventions and meetings that can be
accommodated at Burlingame's larger hotels such as the
Hyatt Regency San
Francisco Airport and
San Francisco
Airport Marriott. The Hyatt is one of
several full service Burlingame hotels that has undergone
renovation, offering excellent menus and food preparation,
convenient meeting space and an interesting atrium configuration for
the hotel, allowing guests on cooler days to stay within the space
for breakfast (including a Starbuck's Coffee). Shuttles from most
Burlingame hotels take about 5 minutes to get over to the airport so
you don't waste lots of time hanging out at the airport instead of
your comfortable hotel room. For layovers, you would assume the
hotels surrounding San Francisco Airport would be popular--and they
are.
Flight attendants, flight crew, pilots and travelers all enjoy
Burlingame's hotel options because they are so close to the airport,
and because the level of the quality of rooms is pretty good.
Having stayed at several such as the smaller
Bay Landing Hotel, I was in awe at the amenities such as
the restaurants surrounding the hotel, and the beautiful walking
paths that offer morning exercise regimens for travelers.
There are about 12
Burlingame Hotels
to check out, so you can reserve and check into the room of your
choice. What tourists don't typically know is that Burlingame offers
access within 10 to 15 minutes to downtown San Francisco, and the
taxi rides are quite affordable when you compare the drive to the
cost of parking in the city.
