If you are planning on visiting the Southern California area and are in hopes of possibly seeing some stars while you are there, Broad Beach in Malibu is an excellent choice. Apart from its undeniable beauty, the location of Broad Beach alone is usually enough to attract a multitude of visitors from all over the world.
Broad Beach in Malibu is not only a tourist attraction but the town is also home to many of Hollywood's famous celebrities, including Tom Hanks, Mel Brooks, Britney Spears and Sting, to name a few. There is a reason why so many celebrities call Malibu home and once you have visited the area, it is easy to see why.
The beach itself is shadowed by miles of mountainous coastline, not to mention hundreds of beautiful beachfront homes. Although the actual beach area seems to have gotten narrower over the years, there is still plenty of room to put down a towel and enjoy a relaxing day in the sun.
During the weekends, the beach can get a little crowded so if you are planning on having a quiet day without seeing a lot of people, it is best to plan your visit for a weekday. However, if part of the reason for your visit is to enjoy the company of the other beachgoers and possibly even take in some stars during the day's outing, a weekend visit would probably work out nicely.
There are only a couple of down-sides to visiting Broad Beach. One of them being that there are currently no shower or bathroom facilities on the beach. However, bathroom facilities can be located at other nearby beaches in case the need should arise. Also, the parking and access points to and from the beach are somewhat limited due to the fact that the majority of the properties surrounding the beach are private residences.
On the up-side, the beach is not far from the Los Angeles area, and the drive there is very scenic. If you are traveling to Broad Beach and are coming from the Los Angeles area, the easiest way to get there is to take Interstate 10 west and then to get off on Pacific Coast Highway, also known as Highway 1. Once you get to Highway 1, Broad Beach is north about another 25 miles. Once you arrive at Broad Beach, there are two main access points, one being a stairway located at 31344 Broad Beach Road and the other a walkway at 31200 Broad Beach Road. The walk to the beach is a little long, but it is definitely worth taking.
