About Boat Canyon
hazards: Beware of hazardous and riptide conditions that are
numerous at Boat Canyon Beach. Rocky areas to the north of the beach are very dangerous,
according to Laguna Beach Lifeguards. Due to the many sharp, shallow rocks,
the water at the southern end of the beach under the condominiums is called
Razors. The entire beach bottom is rocky, and there is a drop-off of approximately five feet
near the shore, providing yet another condition to consider and beware of. There's
an area called Splash Rock that divers especially frequent. Swimmers are
asked to avoid swimming in that region.
