Santa Cruz Boardwalk Beach Centennial Celebration
in 2007
California's and the West Coast’s oldest seaside amusement park turned 100 years
old in 2007. The year of celebrations includes festivities such as free Friday
night summertime concerts on the beach, 1907 nights where prices are rolled back
on rides, hot dogs, soda and cotton candy, all for 75 cents, and discount nights
where $9.95 buys an unlimited ride pass after 5 p.m.
Special events such as The Museum of Art &
History at the McPherson Center in Downtown Santa Cruz is also celebrating this
momentous event with a special Centennial Exhibit, commemorating Santa Cruz
Beach Boardwalk’s history with art, artifacts and historical objects, beginning
April 14, 2007 and continuing through September.
