Fans Turnout for Lakers NBA Championship Parade

Posted by: Beach Reporter In: california| events

Los Angeles LakersThousands of Lakers fans turned the streets of Los Angeles purple and gold today for the Lakers NBA Championship Parade. The route traveled south on Figueroa Street to Jefferson Boulevard, where the parade turns east to end at the Galen Center.

The Lakers won a defensive battle in the deciding game 7 match-up with the Boston Celtics Thursday night in Los Angeles at the Staples Center. The win gave the franchise its 16th championship, second only to Boston (17). The Lakers also won last year’s championship.

Kobe Bryant won the NBA Finals MVP award for second year in a row. Kobe lives in Newport Coast, a wealthy hillside portion of Newport Beach overlooking the Pacific Ocean in Orange County.

It was a great day all over Southern California. All the fans wore their jersey and hats to the beach. Even little kids showed their pride for L.A.’s best.
