Event Happenings Upcoming in CA

Posted by: Beach Reporter In: california| events

We normally give the readers a few days’ notice about upcoming events. So for next weekend, we’re posting events while you are out enjoying this week’s happenings. Highlights of the week include  some fun things with animals and pets.  In Angels Camp you’ll find the Jumping Frog Jubilee and Calaveras County Fair.

In Arcadia, there’s a cute drooling contest at the Basset Hound Spring Games.

Capitola’s having a city-wide birthday celebration, while Castroville promises not to get all choked up over its famous Artichoke Festival where Marilyn Monroe got her start.

Corona’s  Koroneburg European Old World Festival is exciting for all ages with jousting and battles, while Costa Mesa has its famous,  Free Train Rides. When the train arrives at Goathill Junction, you’ll see the kid’ eyes light up. 24th Coulterville Howl and Car Show hits the streets of this gold town. Howling isn’t what you hope for at Doheny Blues Festival, however. Hopefully it will provide some soulful blues tunes, great guitar licks, and a good time at the beach of Dana Point.

City of Encinitas 5K-1K Run/Walk is held at the beach, while Folsom’s  Run with Nature at the Parkway is an inland event.

In Huntington Beach, it’s a luau! while  Salinas Valley Fair features a carnival in King City. Lakeport’s  Lake County Passion Play is worth seeing, or you can opt for the irrevernt Full Monty in Lancaster. Long Beach Gay Pride Festival celebrates the city’s diversity at Rainbow Lagoon, while in LA, Gregg Young rocks as  Smooth Jazz Artist of the Year at The Dome Arclight Theater, 6360 W. Sunset Blvd.,Los Angeles, CA.

That’s not all that’s going on next week in California. Our events calendar will fill you in on the dirty, dizzying, drooling details.
