School of Rock at North Ponto - South Carlsbad State Beach

Want to teach your kids about rocks? North Ponto is a great beach to begin the lesson. Carlsbad, California is the kid-friendly beach destination that welcomes millions of families annually to its shores. In addition to the colorful skies, perfect surfing waves, and beaches that range from sand to rocks, there’s state beach camping (including tent camping on the cliffs above the ocean), Legoland, Carlsbad’s Flower Fields, outlet shopping, and just a whole lot of fun.
But it all begins for toddlers at the beach. Explore the sand, the rocks, the tides, the waves, and get the little ones’ feet wet. That’s what we call school of rock. There are over 20 hotels where you can stay (some provide views of the beach). Enjoy Carlsbad. It’s a family place…but surfers and singles love it just as much.
