Valentine’s Cookies & Cakes with Heart Shapes Say I Love You!
Posted by: Beach Reporter In: beaches| california

Valentine’s Day Treats–Our favorite Master Pastry Chef, Paul Gauweiler, said he’s busy preparing a special order from a local teacher: 25 heart-shaped sugar cookies, each with a different students’ name on it. The popular proprietor of “The Cake Box,” 6054 Warner at Springdale, Huntington Beach, also received a photo of a girl, who’s out-of-state. She called him requesting that he create a quarter sheet cake (white & chocolate) with her picture on top, saying, “I love you”. It’s a surprise for her HB boyfriend on Valentine’s Day. How cute is that? Paul said his most popular Valentine eats are a variety of festive cookies. The one we got says, “Happy Balentines Day.” You never know what the impish German native has up his sleeves. No wonder he was recently featured in The New Yorker Magazine. Since then, The Los Angeles Times Food Editor spent three hours watching him perform his magic. The former head pastry chef at The Disneyland Hotel said a big feature story is to appear in next Thursday’s LA Times. Watch for it. You can get a special savings at “The Cake Box” by going to huntingtonbeachcoupon.com and printing out their coupon for 10% off any purchase. Bon Appetit!
