I have never been a bagel fan, and never actually understood why people think they are so good. But that was before I tried JT’s Bagels in Huntington Beach, California. The quality is so above the rest that the finest local hotels purchase the made fresh products created before the crack of dawn.
The perfect bread alternative, a bagel is shaped like a donut, but is larger in circumference, and much more dense. Rye, egg-white, jalapeno, tomato, apple walnut, raisin, sea salt, cranberry nut, and cinnamon are just a few options. My newest sandwich using the jalapeno bagel is to slice the bagel thin, creating 3 slices. I toast each piece till it is browned and has a crunch. Drizzling fresh California virgin olive oil on it, I then place a sweet, roasted red pepper slice on top, and add some soft mozzarella cheese, then bake for a few minutes. It is an amazing treat and you only need one slice as a snack.
I don’t know if JT’s ships their products. I suppose fresh bagels have limited shelf life. I keep them around about three days until they are gone.
I created this advertisement for JT’s Bagel Co., and recommend that if you are in the area, check the little cafe out. It is next door to Radio Shack on Springdale and Edinger Street across from Marina High School.
