Holiday & Christmas Parades are Plentiful in California This Season

California holiday celebrating never looked so festive. New York City has their Thanksgiving Day Parade which to us West Coasters looks a bit too cold. Plus–there’s no beach. Get on your faux fur coat, your Ugg boots, and some cozy mittens to celebrate California’s parades.
Did you know that some cities actually have street parades and boat parades going on at the same time? How in the world can one person possibly see, do or be in all of them? You have to pick your favorites and go. In California, you simply can’t do it all during the holidays.
Here are some parades coming up you won’t want to miss this season. For full information, visit the California Calendar of Events.
- Sacramento’s 1st Annual Festival of Light Parade Dec. 5
- Huntington Beach Light a Light of Love Parade Dec. 6
- Kelseyville Christmas in the County ParadeĀ Dec. 4
- Oakland Children’s Holiday Parade Dec. 4
- Seal Beach Christmas Parade Dec. 4
- Angels Camp Holiday Parade Dec. 5
- Belmont Shore Christmas Parade Dec. 5
- Bishop Christmas Parade Dec. 5
- Encinitas Holiday Parade Dec. 5
- Fallbrook Christmas Parade Dec. 5

- Los Gatos Holiday Parade Dec. 5
- Santa Maria Christmas Parade of Lights Dec. 5
- Solvang Yule Parade Dec. 5
All the California holiday parades listed are free to attend. The public is invited. Many are daylight parades, but most are at night. One of the biggest attended in the list for this week is the Belmont Shore Parade. People actually line up and stake out spots during the day of the event, even though the regulations request that this is not done.
