Gingerbread & Toys–Discovery Science Center Santa Ana’s Festive Exhibits
Posted by: Beach Reporter In: california| events
Santa Ana, Calif.–I love gingerbread houses and there’s one place that usually brings me my holiday treat. The Discovery Science Center in Santa Ana annually in December hosts “Science of Gingerbread” exhibit featuring gingerbread. But in addition to letting the public explore it, they also remind that “There’s Science in Every Bite!” A competition invites the public to submit their gingerbread creations and you can hardly believe some of the unique designs as imaginations run free! This year judging occurs around Dec. 1, and then the cool gingerbread house creations go on display.
In addition to this exhibit, a special holiday month-long section of the museum explores the Toys of Mexico, showing the cultural importance of toys, and the toys that children commonly play with in our neighboring country.
Also rounding out the lively month of fun in December 2009 is an exhibit talking about the truth about bats.
If you’ve never visited this wonderful kid-friendly science center, it’s not boring at all. In fact, it’s hard to get the adults away. Discovery Science Center is open daily, except holidays. Discovery Science Center 2500 N. Main St. Santa Ana, CA 92705 Call: 714-542-2823 discoverycube.org. Admission is around $10-12. Get tickets.
