Santa Maria (California) 108 Reasons to See Christmas Parade of Lights

Santa Maria, Calif.–The Santa Maria/Nipomo Rotary Club is hosting its 15th annual Santa Maria Christmas Parade of Lights on December 5, 2009. There are 108 reasons to see this parade, and all of them provide examples of what makes this city so great. Participating in the parade are firefighters and other public servants, public leaders such as city council members, farm clubs, scout packs, political groups, school, church, sports, and nonprofits. In addition to the people that live and work in the community, this parade is one of the most beloved and supported by the merchants and business owners ranging from banks, cars, media, restaurants and more. And the highlight for children who love to watch the marching bands, hear the beat of the drums approaching and see the cheer teams twirling batons and pom poms, is seeing the big guy, Mr. Santa Claus.
The parade begins at 5:20PM on Saturday December 5th, 2009, On Broadway between Stowell and the Town Center Mall. If raining then the Parade will be moved to Saturday December 12th, 2009 at 5:20PM. Bring your canned goods to donate to Salvation Army.
