Western Holiday Shopping in LA at Autry National Center

Western Holiday Cheer and Shopping at the Autry National Center offer unique gifts and Western flair. If you’ve heard the melodic voice of Gene Autry, a stroll through the gift store is ideal for purchasing videos, CDs and even Western style clothes. Here are some special events that the National Center is hosting:
- Here Comes Santa Claus December 5–6, 11:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
- Western Holiday Weekend Sale December 5–6, 11:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
- StoryTime December 6, 1:30-2:30 p.m.
- WMA Cowboy Holiday Cheer Concert December 6, 2:00–4:00 p.m.
- Autry Adventures 5-Star Activities December 26 and 27, 11:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
Los Angeles, CA — Putting on his favorite boots and his famous red suit, Santa Claus is saddling up his sleigh and rounding up his reindeer. On Saturday, December 5, take a picture with Santa Claus, who makes an early trip to the Old West. Sing along with classic Gene Autry holiday favorites like “Here Comes Santa Claus ( Right Down Santa Claus Lane )” and “Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer.” Free with museum admission. Western Holiday Weekend at the Autry Store features gifts with Western themes, holiday spirit with festive music and tasty treats.
On Sunday, December 6, Little Firefly: An Algonquian Legend by Terri Cohlene and The First Strawberries: A Cherokee Story by Joseph Bruchac are two stories about Native peoples of the eastern United States that will be presented.
Also on December 6 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., sit back, relax, and enjoy Cowboy Holiday Cheer, a special holiday concert in the Wells Fargo Theater featuring a sampling of selected talent from the Western Music Association. The holiday excitement doesn’t end there! On December 26 and 27 there will be five family-friendly activities throughout the museum. Autry Adventures 5-Star Activities honors Gene Autry’s five stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He is the only person to have achieved all five stars. Free with museum admission.
